Be absolutley honest please

If a very close relative of yours had to be adicted to alcohol or smoking, which would you choose?

Some people have said they don't want to choose, but the question is meant to look at which is the worst - addiction to alcohol or smoking? It's a genuine question.
I added the close relative part to make people think more carefully.

As much as its harmful, it would be smoking. Alcohol addiction eats away at the essence of the person, they become something they were not in order to feed their addiction and can lead lonely, undignified lives. Very sad.

Smoking because although smoking can effect others Alcohol makes other peoples lives a misery also

I would say smoking because it has less behavioral side effects than alcoholism. My Mom, Stepdad and older sister smoke. While it wasn't the best way to grow up, I would prefer that to three raging alcoholics that I couldn't escape from.

smoking because families have not been torn apart children haven't been abused and you can't get a dui from smoking
