my front driver seat broke, it now will not support itself, it just falls back. on the side closest to the door the metal piece has come disconnected and the bolts have snapped. do i have to replace the whole seat or can i just get that metal piece that connects the back and bottom part of the seat?

The mechanism on the side of the seat that controls how it tilts back and forth is called the recliner mechanism and is available as a separate part or you might be able to reattach it to the seat frames. The sliding part below the seat is called the seat adjuster and can be bought separately. The metal frame that may be under that is called the riser---also can be bought by itself...check with a Chevy parts dept for pics and info on them. Salvage yards carry them too.
