Usually you will get a common local reaction - tenderness, swelling, with redness and hot sensation over the area. It can be pretty painful and sometimes disabling.

When ants sting, they inject a fluid substance that can trigger an inflammation reaction. It can be pretty itchy and can cause a lot of pain, redness, swelling, tenderness and hot sensation over the area.It will take a while for that to subside so avoid scratching as breaking the skin may possibly invite an infection.

Any ant can be venomous and harmful and can trigger a prophylactic reaction but that would be right after the sting. As 2 weeks had past, what you got is a usual local reaction which is common .
