This is actually called mirroring and is not just confined to actions, people that share the same living space for any length of time will do it, people who are related to each other will do it also.

Hand and face expressions, ways of sitting and standing, verbal expressions, even clothing and colour co-ordination are common to two people that spend a lot of time together.

If are with a close friend you will tend to mirror them nad they you, hence you will find mistake you for brother & sister etc.

Mirroring is also a form of commication, it shows understanding of what the other person is saying, next time you sit opposite someone try deliberately doing something simple that you can repeat over, such as touching your left ear, after a while the other person will also begin to tiouch their left ear.

This is why scratching and yawning can also spread around a room, try it on a train and watch what happens.

Imitation is the highest form of flattery: this is true in this case as when someone is attracted to you they tend to watch you and think about you a lot, this tends to influence them to do things the same way. If you watch married couples they often share similar actions and speech patterns.
