I guess bi people are somehow more flirtatious in both directions. They act like they're the centre of the scene, their act is more exagerated and they are very physical (touchy) they are more open and more in touch with their yang.
of course all this is a generalization and if you don't know the person well, you won't see what's behind his behavior/act. Simply, ask. Sometimes it might be offensive to ask a total stranger about his sexual orientation, but if you are friends, you can ask more easily...

Or if you've known them for a while, you might see them dating a man, then break up with him and date a woman. That's usually a pretty good clue.

Since being gay is genetic, you can have a sample of their hair tested to see if they have the gay gene.
If they have the gay gene, and it's recessive, then the person is bi.
