My best friend got pregnant at fourty. The risk of miscarriage is higher though. You can buy a test from boots to see what the quality of your eggs is like, you do the test on the third day of your cycle. To improve your chances of getting pregnant you should exercise, eat healthily and take a multi vitamin. Check with your doctor before doing any of the above. I would start charting to improve your chances. Buy or download a book called taking charge of your fertiltiy by toni weschler and it explains everything. Good luck and remember it is possible. :)

I think it would be great for you to have another baby, It would help heal the pain of losing your little boy. It must leave a big gap in your life and having a baby might help fill it...I know that you will always have the memories of your first born but to have another baby to focus on im sure will bring you a lot of joy..i had my first and only baby at 38 yrs so you are certainly not to old if that is what you r worried about...I wish you tons of luck and love in whatever you decide to do.xx

First of all, I am very sorry for you loss. As long as you are still ovulating, there shouldn't be a problem for you getting pregnant again. It will just be a little harder since you don't have as many eggs as you did when you were younger. Check with your doctor and make sure everything is alright before getting pregnant and good luck!

I remember hearing not too long ago about a 60 something year old lady having twins. Anything is possible. I would call your doc first and talk about the risk.

40 is not too old at all. my auntie is 44 and she has just got pregnant (by accident). as you will be older, the gps will give you more tests as with age, the chances of having a downs baby etc increase. they will look after you. good luck

Firstly, I send my love and joy to you....and also my heartfelt comfort for your loss of your precious son...who now runs with angels.
I am 49...expecting twins....yes, our first! Long wait!
'Maca Powder' ...this WILL help you. Google it, lots of information for you to read how wonderful it is.
Very important to begin taking 'Folic Acid/Vit E'.
A diet change for us was the answer...eating completely organics...lots of antioxidant foods (Red/Green Peppers, Asparagus/Strawberries/Yams/Carrots/Kiwi Fruit/Oranges/Banana's also are excellent).
All processed food is poison...so we discovered...even 'salt' is a no no...except Organic Celtic or Himalayan Salt...they are excellent - Iodine (Kelp) is very important.
Red Raspberry Leaf tea (strengthens uterine wall)...Red Clover, Golden Seal, False Unicorn Root, Vitex, Black Cohosh..these are all very supportive to 'preparing' the womb and balancing hormones.
Happiness and laughter is also important ... we need to have happy emotions for conception to happen.
The Maca Powder has it all - just make sure its 'Certified Organic'...
Blessings to you; your little one is on the way...!

Yes, it's possible. If i were you i'd chat to your doctor because it might not be as easy to conceive as it was previously so she might have some advice to improve your chances. Good luck X
