There different types of Vampire myths

1) The whole garlic, sunlight and cat hating ones who love bats and can't come out durning the day, are very seductive, don't have souls, don't have a reflection and have fangs. Wooden stakes kill them. You can either be born like this or be made.

2) The ones that are almost human like. Can go out in sunlight, don't mind crosses, seductive, sleep, eat, have souls and have fangs. Can die by any well palced bullet or stake. To be turned you have to be bitten then the Vamp gives you some blood. This has to be done at least three time then you are to die and then when you wake up you are a little out of it then you sleep for three days and your a Vamp. Not sure if the can have kids or not but I don't think so.

3) Stephenie Meyers version. Sparkles in sunlight, are very cold, don't mind crosses, have topaz eyes, are extremely beautiful, can run fast, like fast cars, don't sleep, don't eat, don't have fangs but strong teeth and venom, smell horrible to werewolves, can only be killed by ripping them to shreds them burning them. To be turned into one you have to be infected with the venom in their saliva and it takes 3 days of feeling like your burning. No heart beat or blood or andy liquids like tears or sweat, can't blush. Can't have kids

4) Buffy Vamps. Demon infested Vamps that don't like sun light or crosses, don't eat, sleep, don't have souls but can get one( like Spike did) die by being staked. Have to die then come out of the grave. Angel and Darla had a kid but not hear of any other ones.

Real vampires don't exist but some people have delusions that they are and mess around with drinking blood. I've seen reports of this. They are said to need to sleep in coffins on their native soil under the cushions. They can be killed by having a stake driven through their hearts. They are said to be beautiful in some cases and others say they are ugly creatures it's just which text you're reading.

Vampirism is a form of undead.

Since they are dead, they cannot support the energy required to continue. So they leech energy from the living, leaving them pallid and weak (similar to blood loss).

The energy they use is highly sensitive to distrubances created by Faith and other strong feelings. So it is not the crucifix they are afraid of, but the absolute faith of the wielder. The lack of fear.

The vampire posesses hyper-enhanced senses. With a super smell, strong smelling things (garlic) become troublesome. Also, with super strength they can jump or leap and appear to fly.

The sunlight is a powerful source of energy and it destroys the complexes they use to sustain life.

Read Anne Rice. The gist of her books are that a demon Azel? was able to get into the body of the queen of Egypt Akasha through a stab wound and their spirit meshed with the human spirit and became the vampire.

Actually the most common type is the "psychic vampire" and most of them don't even realize they are.
Ever work with someone who just sits and complains and spending just a little while with them drains your energies?
Or visit dear old Aunt Ida who proceeds to tell you all about all her aches and pains and complain about how hardly anybody comes to visit her?
That is a psychic vampire.
