Does training teach shoot-out skills? Fast-draw skills?
Or do we have to duel it out with a few people individually to be safe and secure?

Strange isn't how the law somedays protects the very people who violate them the most.

Any responsible gun owner knows that training how to use the weapon goes along with carrying one. If not then why even bother. Like you imply, it won't help.

Gun laws like the Brady bill were overturned because of events like the diner shooting where a civilian carrying a concealed weapon saved lives. No consolation to the families at Virginia tech. Another case of weapons easily attained regardless of mental instability. Like a stalker. This criminal is working off emotions and is really dangerous. I fear for the innocent victim who gets hit by a stray bullet. Or even the registered gun owner shot by cops by mistake!

Gun laws are by State and it is looking sad for us average citizen. Like the kitty above said. We might as well get used to it.

If a person is being stalked, he has a chance to survive if he/she is carrying a hand gun.
If a potential stalker knows his victim is carrying, maybe he will stay away. That type of person is cowardly to begin with.
