at present this really is in bad taste i cant believe she would be considering this type of career change due to the very nature of her involvement in her daughters disappearance.
its badly timed and ill judged

I think it's understandable that she would feel galvanised by this to try to do something about an issue that most people (including, I'll bet, most of those posting on this issue regardless of some of the pompous protestations your question has provoked) have been barely aware of. I'd like to think she will have the reward of having her daughter returned safe and sound to her. What I also find interesting about the article is that over a week after it was published, every single comment is supportive of the McCanns. So much for "what everyone is thinking"!

FAITH>>> FOR GODS SAKE...
It is not proved conclusively at all that they did not drug their kids!!!!.
You cannot repeat this BuL***t.
They themselves commissioned a test. The McCanns supplied the hair samples.
They would need to be at least 5Cm long to include the relavant period. Now if you look at photos of the twins a 5cm long hair might be difficult to find.
There is no proof. For Goodness sake, if the McCanns did drug their children like the Portuguese police suspect, from the evidence they have collected, do you reallty think that the Lying (proven) McCanns would voluntarily supply evidence to re-inforce this.
The test they commissioned is totally worthless yet gets reported as "proof".Its just another spin exercise.
I really thought you had more sense than to repeat this type of nonsense. I have to say now that I suspect you cannot be an unconnected impartial bystander

Are you sure it's not April 1st ?? This will be another load of Clarrie McSpin to make us all think what a wonderful ,caring woman she is. I think the PJ will be having other thoughts.
Anyone in Child Welfare who employed this woman should be questioned too.
EDIT Does Robin know something we don't .I wonder ???
EDIT.... Apparently this Child welfare thing was written in Gerry's blog months ago before they were made arguidos and the paper decided to rehash it.It was a DR friend who suugested this would be a good career move for Kate.,so Gerry printed it in his blog to show us all how much faith he has in his wife's ability to take care of children .

I still have so many doubts about this case.. and the repeated efforts, please, "look for Maddie". In the past I have not wanted to judge and still do not wish to do so in their case. But I would like some answers too... have they taken a lie detector test yet?
I do agree that they should not be put into the position to give support and advice for other parents.
Having drinks and enjoying yourself in another country and leaving your children alone to fend for themselves in it's own measure is child abuse. Why couldn't they have taken food outside their holiday apartment and sat directly outside their accommodation and ate and drank with friends there? If they had too... who knows really if the child was even there that evening? What's to say that the child hadn't already disappeared? Was this a way of covering or providing some kind of alibi?
No matter how tired or in need of a holiday any of us may feel we deserve time off from our kids, (some me time) children come first no compremise. It is wrong, to leave your children unattended and falls short of being a parent...my view
I used to be in their camp but I am changing my view because, my first instinct over this is not being able to comprehend a family with both parents that are intellectual, affluent, professionally respected simply left three children in a foreign home alone situation...I would get social services to have them arrested for this... regardless.
Sorry to change my opinion of the two, but a mother's love is to protect at all times until you draw your last breathe on this earth...I'm a man and I don't have any children of my own because I don't want to bring any children into this world of ours. But if I did have a child though hard to bring it up if I wanted time off from my child and to get away for a few hours I would ask a family member or trusted friend to look after then for me or I would just not risk my children, plenty of me time when they are old enough to be aware of potential harm..preventative action would have resulted in protected children.
How can anyone consider to think that it's enough to simply pop back yards and yards and yards away to see that your children were still ok? The look upon my child's face would endevour me to have said you know what you lot go and have some fun, bring me back a doggy bag, but I'm staying with my loved ones. (full-stop!)

she is just desperate for attention
it is such a pity that a gagging order wasn't put on this family
if they can't talk about the only thing people are interested in hearing about what else would they have to say that could possibly be of interest?
i don't care what she feels about her job or what she feels she wants to do in her future
i just know that if my child was missing i would not be able rto think very much about doing very much but try to find her and also if i was financially secure (as they appear to be) cherish the babies i still have

Yes, she's deluded. She's attempting to show how responsible and caring she is. Too bad she didn't want to be responsible and caring when she left her children alone in a strange place knowing that a man had been following and photographing them.

Here's an attempt at an non biased answer to this question:
I think it would be a bad idea for her to go into child welfare as it would become about her endless retelling of the story of Maddy, which would not be good for Kate or her children, or for the family which she would be trying to help as the focus would be shifted away from their specific case, and Kate could never regain the professional detatchment needed to work in this field.
