How do we know there really was a demon and a person named Jesus? While some may accept "Mk. 1:24" as history - there certainly are many more who do not.
Thanks for your thumbs down, but NO ONE has to accept the Bible as History. Keep your demons to yourselves.

Remember, the demon (fallen angel), would have served Jesus and His Father in Heaven before Satan's rebellion against God...

Because they saw angel coming to Mary, Mary giving birth to Jesus, and everything else that happened (him being born in Betlehem), also they know the Scriptures (James 2). So, they calculated 2+2 and knew!

No offense intended; but, I can not believe there are still people who really believe in demons in our 'enlightened' age. I suppose you still believe in witches, goblins, gremlins, Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, elves, dragons, the Tooth Fairy, unicorns and other fantasy creatures, too.
I know; it's the Bible, and its word is taken as literal. But, so is the Koran and many other ancient literary works. And one can't believe them all.
If God came to earth today and inspired someone to write down His word anew, I think the person who transcribed it would end up in an institution, or be placed on a drug rehab program.
If not... perhaps I should take up pen and create a new scripture for the new age. After all, the stuff in the Bible was given to people in a different age, with different needs. Surely God needs to update His instructions to mankind.
I cannot beleive when God said to go forth, reproduce and replenish the earth, He meant for us to continue to do so in the face of obvious overpopulation. But, hey! Maybe He's even more cruel than I first thought.
I guess this is what we get for worshiping a 'Jealous God'. Personally, I think Jews and Christians have been worshiping the 'jealous one' who got kicked out of Heaven for thinking he was better than his maker; and this world is his mess.
Consider all the 'mistakes' he's made so far. First, God made what was described as the most perfect and beautiful of creatures, the angels; supreme among whom was Lucifer. Lucifer then turns on God and takes a host of other angels with him to a place God created just for them.
Then, God makes humans and puts them into the Garden of Eden; an idyllic paradise. But wait! There's a problem here, too. Now we have Adam and Eve eating of the forbidden fruit... no idea why there was such a temptation in the first place... if God made them perfect, there would be no need to 'test' them. So, there's Paradise lost!
Now we move forward in time and we have Noah. Now, God admits that the rest of humanity sucks, and has Noah build an ark to save his family and the other creatures. The He wipes out the rest of humanity.
Fast forward to Lot, and Sodom and Gamorah. Here again, God admits the people of these two cities are wicked beyond saving. So he sends angels to get Lot and his family out of town before the conflagration.
The people in the town want Lot to give up the strangers so they can have thier way with them. So, what does this man who is so righteous God sent angels to save him do? He offers up his virgin daughters to the crowd instead. Some father...
Moving right along, past the pillar of salt that his wife turned into for disobeying God's injunction to not look back; Lot and his daughters have reached a safe cave to hang out in until the destruction of the two cities is done.
What's the first thing the daughters do? Fearing they are all that's left of humanity, they get Lot drunk and commit incest with him, begetting two sons who go on to found two new tribes. And it goes on and on this way.
First, why would a real God, who is said to be all powerful, wise, compassionate, loving, just, etc. require his creations to worship him? Does he have some sort of inferiority complex that he has to have his creations kissing his etherial butt?
And what sort of God makes so many mistakes and then punishes his flawed creations for his foul up? Why, perhaps a jealous god?
Jealosy is certainly the emotion that is violent enough to qualify for this sort of egomaniacal, sadistic, and megalomaniacal behavior. I've seen the same sort of behaviour in dysfunctional families where the father would look for the kids to mess up so he could punish them.
Ah, but I rant on and have probably already lost most readers. So, to cover my butt, I'll close with this quote from Dennis Miller: "Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
