1. He will try to isolate her from her friends, family. That effectively cuts her off from her support group.
2. He will run her down, at first subtly and then more blatantly. e.g. "Do you really think you should wear that?" to "Your a fat, worthless pig".
3. He will make her think that she doesn't have the right to her own opinion. "Why would you be friends with that girl?" or "What makes you think you know enough to make that choice?" and generally his opinion will be the only one that counts.
4. He will resent that she spends any time away from him, whether that be work, sports activities, study or whatever.
5. When they disagree he will take on a threatening posture - be in her face, yelling, maybe pushing. Possible he will slam his hand down on table, or hit walls etc, implying an underlying violence. And if she calls him on it, he will say something like "Well you know it makes me mad when you...." or :"If you were different, I wouldn't get so mad" implying that his temper is her fault.
If you see the signs please let her know to take care.

it is good that you worry about your freind , but , you should also (nicely) mind your own bussiness and have some faith in your freind to recognize any signs of anger or dnger on her part. things are not always as they seem.
