Yeast infections??

Question

I have a few questions about yeast infections.
1. What are the symptoms??
2. How do you find out if you have one or not?
3. How do you treat it?
4. How can you prevent it?

1. itching, foul odor, yellow-green discharge
2. you could get tested at your doctor's, although he could probably diagnose you if you display the above symptoms
3. tampon dipped in natural unflavoured, unsweetened yoghurt. Sounds gross but it works. Make sure it is not sweetened as that will only encourage the yeast to grow.
4. Wear loose cotton underwear, good feminine hygiene, don't douche with soaps, never wear damp underthings, pee after sex, and if possible, put your underwear through a really hot dryer cycle before you wear them. They might wear out sooner, but the heat destroys the bacteria on them so it's better for you.

2. The best way to find out if one has a yeast infection is to see their doctor for further evaluation

3. Medications called anti-fungals such as a medication called Terazol and Diflucan are used to treat yeast infections

4. A good way to help prevent yeast from being a problem is by taking acidophillous but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
