Waiting for bills (dread him)
waiting for letters from loved ones (love him)

It could of course be a lady who brings the mail.

We watch anxiously when awaiting good news but hope our door is passed when in debt... when not in debt we feel shunned if our door is passed by. This will be interesting to see in a survey unless you are that postman! What about the dogs opinion?

I am a post woman for my sins..!
Most of the people i deliver to are pleased to see me, but that is probally because i deliver to an affluent area & they are loaded. What really P*sses us off is when people say "not more rubbish" we hear it every single day of the week & God knows how many times. The people who say is actually think they are the only ones. I just tell them if they did not send off for everything & anything they would not have half as much. I really love my job when i make some one happy. Certificates from the Queen, birthday cards for children etc.
I have been bitten by quite a few dogs over the years & people are amazed when they see i am not scared of them, they usually only bite you once. If they know you are not scared they do not usually bother again. It can hurt like hell if it is a big dog though. I also have dogs that follow me on my round (6 or 7) they protect me from other dogs & get jealouse if i talk to my customers, the people i deliver to do not like it when the dogs pee or poo in their gardens. I am not going to clean it up though.

I hate getting the huge amounts of junk mail that comes through our letterbox lately! I hardly ever get a personal letter any more as most people email me nowadays, so i would reckon i dread the postman as it seems to be only bills or rubbish that gets delivered
edit: oh and by the way i don't send off for everything and anything for the junk mail to be delivered, what a load of cr@p, most companies get your name off a data base list or if you buy a car they continuously send leaflets about new models!

Had recent trouble with the tax man and they seemed to be writing to me every few days. They have a query so they write for an explanation. I reply. Then they find another query they write then I reply. It would have been more tolerable if they had checked all my documentation and written just the one. Poor postman almost got the blame. By the way our postman is the tops and I give him a generous tip at Christmas.

I have nothing to fear from the postman because everything's on direct debit. I like to get letters and cards, although genuinely can't remember the last time I received anything hand-written from anyone just out of the blue, just because, for no special reason. I do send them to others though, because I know how it brightens a day.

Love him. You're going to have to pay the bills whether or not they come by post - and he might sometimes be bringing you a cheque from "Ernie" - that'll mystify the foreigners ! ! !
