The Roman Emperors were considered deities. What the average Roman of any class felt about this is impossible to tell at this distance in time. And yes, the Emperor was worshipped. The reason the early Christians were so persecuted was because they refused to worship the Emperor, particularly by the Emperor Decius Trajan who required all citizens to sacrifice to the Emperor in the presence of a Roman official who was to issue evidence (a libellus) that they had done so.

ok i found this quote "The soldiers worshipped the emperors as gods. At Maryport in Cumbria a series of altars testify to annual vows for the emperor of the kind governors made in their provinces. A military calendar from the garrison town of Dura on the Euphrates shows how many holidays were linked to the anniversaries of the imperial house, celebrations of the imperial house, celebrations of the birthdays of imperial princes and of the anniversaries of the dates on which they had put on the toga of manhood and so on. For many soldiers, as for many others in the empire, the emperors were gods.

Good question. I imagine that it is similar in how people react toward kings at present. A small group of people with a vested interest in deifying a king or at least raising him up beyond humans (i.e. selling yellow shirts, a symbol of one king I know of, in order to make a ton of profit). As the people worry about being ostracized if they don't wear yellow shirts they then buy the shirts and proclaim more ferverently than ever their loyalty to the king. In the case of Rome I am sure that people had their strong doubts about the reasons for them to be declared as such but in public they did not want the financial or legal ramifications of repudiating their claims

i don't think of a guy or woman's call is in any respect as significant as how they behave, what style of a lifestyles they lead. There are those with unattractive names who're staggering human beings and stay staggering lives. yet individually i don't look after names derived from alcoholic liquids like: Brandy Margarita or Sherry It merely would not look the excellent option. i'm sorry if that's your call, yet i don't look after those. I additionally do in comparison to females names in keeping with ingredients like Peaches candy Apple (what become Gwyneth Paltrow questioning?!?) i think of human beings would desire to have human sounding names LOL! not names like foodstuff products. I surely have 2 daughters with attractive, unique names that i did not get out of a cookbook yet additionally are obtainable and somewhat attractive. I merely think of human beings could be ingenious without naming their infant after their famous beverage or snack.

I remember studing this. No they didn't treat their emporers like their Gods. Their emporers did pretty crazy things. In fact mose of them were mental, and did bad things just to be remembered. They dont deserve to be worshiped by even a bee
