"beauty is in the eye of the beholder", my friend...

me myself, I agree that many places in the Philippines are undeniably beautiful... like places in Palawan, Bohol, Batanes, Ifugao, etc, etc...

I agree with Jan-na, one of the best...

(from my husband, a kano): The problem with the original question is the use of the word "best". That's so very subjective. Not a good question.

The Philippines has some amazing scenic places. But, so do many other countries ... in fact, most do.

How do you compare some of the beautiful views off of Southern Samar with American's Grand Canyon? You can't. They're different.

My advice to askers: quit asking what's "best". Ask what's "great".

Appreciation is totally dependent on what they have seen so far. While we have beautiful, scenic tourist destinations, other Asian countries have pretty much the same things.

And then again, the scenic spots in the Middle East and in Europe would have an entirely different flavor.

Just being true.

Definitely not.
The beaches are better elsewhere yet the local advertising suggests that they are the best in the world. False.
For anyone who has travelled extensively, it is clear that the Philippines has little to offer.
Where in the Philippines can compare to the Grand Canyon or Niagara Falls? Paris, Rome, London, New York, Toronto and on and on and on. Are you suggesting that Manila or Intramuros compares favourably with such locations? Not a chance.

This is subjective...

But being a Filipino living in the Philippines, I'd like to believe that we have (one of) the best scenic places in the world.

I am biased; I am a Filipino. Still, I am proud that my country has lots to offer not only to local but to foreign visitors as well. I think the beauty spots in the country are comparable to the scenic spots in the other countries and in some cases, much more than what these countries can offer sightseers.
