Oh... that's your definition of true fan. I'm not exactly sure if i am one. People can get a bit overemotional and overreact sometimes. You are right by saying that people now pay more attention to off-track details (i assume that's what you mean. Sorry if i misinterpreted it).
I try not to be too biased about other competitors but sometimes in the heat of the moment, things happen. So try not to read too much into the fans and just enjoy the sport.

I love F1 fans. They don't fight each other and cause riots after their teams lost. Nobody dies after an F1 race.
F1 has been a multi million dollar sports. Everything is at stake. Team survival depends on sponsors, and sponsors expect to get something out of the huge sum of money they pays every year.
Then there's this technology that is being push to the limits. F1 cars are the most advance car in the entire world, and by far from the next best car. The technology behind it is complex.
Performance comes at the cost of safety. Thus all this complicated rules to ensure that teams doesn't push their car beyond the safety limits. But because of how complicated the technology is, rules that governs them also becomes very complicated. This causes what is called "gray area" among the rules.
And because F1 is not just a race on track, but it's also a technological race off track, the huge sum of money involves is inevitable.
What I'm saying is that, the reason why F1 is so complicated is because of the nature of the sports itself. It cannot be avoided. The politics, media, its all unavoidable.

I would call myself a true fan, although due to my age the first season i actually have any memory of was the year Senna died. From what i have memory of this last season is the best season of my lifetime and this is more despite of the FIA than thanks to them. We have had a brilliant season of racing which has come very close to being ruined by the stupid politics and all the money. I don't think its ruined the sport yet because there has still been good racing but if we get another season like this one (in terms of all the politics not the racing) then a lot of people will start giving up on the sport

Yes, I absolutely love F1. It's one of those sports that people follow regularly. I would've watched F1 from the very beginning if I could but I wasn't even born yet! But anyhow, I'm glad that I am following F1 now. It's a really great sport- not just about winning races, but it's also all about team spirit and fans getting together to cheer on their favourite team/driver.. F1 brings people together. I like that.

nicely, enable's purely start up with the question first... how is it racing? just to make constructive, I went forward and took out the dictionary to ascertain: a million. a contest of velocity, as in working, using, using, or crusing. I then reread and definite... i grew to become into precise, there's no longer something in any respect that demands lead ameliorations ora particular margin of victory. You cite a pair of examples the place the quickest motive force gained. So, you seem to of course comprehend that it grew to become right into a using contest of velocity, yet yet you're nonetheless asking? So purely what's it which you're relatively asking... you seem to think of a race demands overtaking? WRC is racing... yet there is fantastically much in no way any overtaking except somebody suffers a mishap. Oh, and those autos are greater high priced than a spec- Miata, i think that WRC is hence boring and boring and hence somebody ought to in all probability positioned up a question as to the way it ought to be seen racing? Or what approximately NASCAR in assessment to my purely reported Spec Miata... I propose the autos fee 10-20 cases better than a spec-Miata, the margins of victory are often better, and the sector sizes smaller... and that they are in a position to't make it via a race maximum oftentimes without crashing! definite, of course, with all issues seen, on the 2nd Spec Miata could seem to be easily the precise of motorsport! nicely, a minimum of except we would desire to start comparing to cleansing soap field racers... I propose those are many times very close contests with lead ameliorations going to and fro fantastically much precise to the end. once you talk that, how ought to anybody ever desire to observe something ever back! some people ask your self how a serious baseball fan can rejoice with observing a glass's duel, at the same time as the baseball fan, very much enjoying the matchups interior the interest, nicely-knownshows it plenty plenty greater appropriate than a contest with homerun after homerun. Likewise, many race followers thrill for what it takes to make a bypass artwork decrease than the situations in F1... in case you do no longer nice, no longer each and every person likes an identical issues. yet relatively, do you fairly lack the comprehension to comprehend that people see issues in a diverse way and experience diverse aspects of racing?

of all the GP's I've been to i have never ever seen a fight between rival fans. you see the Ferrari fans all dressed up with red wigs and all, the Renault fans painted blue etc etc. everyone mixes, everyone communicates and everyone is big enough to offer credit where credit is due. I have been an F1 fan for more years than i care to remember, so i do consider myself a true fan.

Not sure if I'm a TRUE F1 fan, but well done Raikkonen - job well done and thoroughly deserved.
Hamilton will win the championship soon enough - no doubt of that. He's got the talent in bucketloads and he's young. Crickey, it's only he's first season.

Yeah its the same with all sports, when someone or team is successful we like to jump on the bandwagon.
While this leads to more c**p coming out of people's mouths informing us like they invented the sport and more publicity leaches then a big brother house its important to remember that it brings alto of money and status to the sport, of which, its more then happy to take.

There are lots of sports like this. for instance nobody in my local pub could have given a toss aboout the rugby world cup until England got to the final, and then they were all there wearing their pretentious england hats e.t.c.
p.s everytime i bet on Raikkonen he loses and when I don't bet he wins doh!
