Most silver coins that are made today contain almost exactly one ounce of silver. The price of silver fluctuates daily. If you were to somehow trade it as currency you would always have to approximate it's value at that exact moment for that exact trade. A silver dollar pre 1935 is not all silver it is like .99 %
the current silver price is around $14.67 per ounce
But a silver dollar depending on it condition can range for $ 10's to thousands of $$$ even some current commerative like the olympic silver dollar can be worth 100's, even copper clad (non silver) Eisenhaurers and Susan B. or Sagagwa's are sometimes worth in the upper 10's to 100's
The most valuable silver dollar start of with Barbers, Trade, Morgans, and Peace generally in that order the names given are of the engraver of the coins

If the price of silver was $1.29 per oz, a silver dollar would be worth $1 in silver so figure 100/129 times silver price now
