You're sitting around with a buddy and suddenly someone's stomach gurgles. Both of you think it was yourself that did it. (You know what I'm talking about right?) Both of you could swear that you felt it, so it must have been your OWN stomach that made the sound. Obviously the sound only came from one of you, so how could you BOTH have felt it? How could you BOTH have heard it coming from your own bellies? Other times it might be a little different scenario.....sometimes maybe you're not really sure who did it and then both of you end up thinking it must've been the OTHER person's stomach. I mean it's really hilarious sometimes, but what the heck makes that particular sound so elusive as far as its origin? I want to know where that darn sound came from! lol

I'd like to hear how many people out there have experienced a situation(s) similar to what I've described above and also any theories you might have as to what causes this bizarre stuff to happen......

No I am not desperate to have this answered and therefore chose this category.....I chose this category because I honestly am curious how many people this has happened to. However from the 2 answers I've gotten so far I don't think you understand the question. I realize that the sound is coming from the intestines and that it can happen when you're hungry (or alternatively it can happen when you've recently eaten). What puzzles me is this - how is it that when only one intestinal gurgling sound has been made - and there are two people in the room - that BOTH PEOPLE think they made the sound?? Does that make it clearer what I am wondering?

I've been in the situation....but I think that both our bellies were gurgling...I know you belly gurgles if you need to eat, but I was told in school that by swallowing too much air...*yes swallowing air* causes the gurgling too...
