Why don't you be more specific instead of the broad brush slam on Americans? Where do you reside other than your high horse?

I find Americans to be very thoughtful and most who give their opinion have been asked. If you don't want to know it, don't ask.

I don't think your question makes a lot of sense. Walmart is the epitome of the free market. People are free to shop where they want, Wal-Mart offers them the goods they want at the price they want to pay, hence free market. Granted some communities do zone areas so businesses like Wal-Mart cannot move in and it probably does hurt the local economy due to job loss and the consumer paying higher prices, but they also have to option of getting their zoning boards to change the zoning through public opinion and public pressure.

Zoning assists the citizenry in maintaining their communities free from mega-marketers and the like. As an aside, to our Scottish farmer friend "Don't let the Trump trump your ace!"

That IS AN OPINION without researching Walmart -- don't want them in my back yard and damn the research.

I once lived in a city that was against building a 2nd Walmart Super Center. I respected both sides of the issue. But, we needed that second Walmart and it was built. And, both stores were successful because they were on opposite sides of the city. Not everyone can afford to shop in small hardware/clothing/grocery stores..... :)

It actually IS because of free speech. There has been a campaign against Wal Mart for years, and it is finally beginning to work. People are believing the lies. I personally love Wal Mart and shop there all the time. I also go to Sam's once a month or so for groceries.

So how can we have economic growth if there are 5 adult sex shops and 20 bars and all the restaurants are in the next town?
