This war in Iraq isn't going anywhere. It was a bad idea to get in. But now we have to deal with the mess on hand. The Iraqi Kurds seem like good people who can govern themselves. But an independent Kurdistan in Iraq seems to drive the Turks and Iranians crazy and could destabilize the area further. Should the US support independence for the Iraqi Kurds, or hope they stay in a national confederation?

they could not survive simply all the borders would be closed and they would starve to death. Not being able to trade nothing and if they try to attack with there peshmerga they would crumble into pieces and if USA attacks turkey for it well USA would loose alot of troops in a gropund invasion simply because Turkey is not like iraq they would fight till there death, all turkish men would fight even me i would die fighting for my country no one ******* dares to invade!

I agree with you up to a point. They of course have a right to their independence, like everyone else has had to fight for their independence. Russia, Turkey and Iraq will of course object to this.
Russia has already rattled it's swords about the Kurds and "the rich oil" they have. They already told us "hands off the Kurds"

So, in keeping with standard issues the U.S. will, if it's recognized, go in and help the Kurds but, this will look to Russia as a way for the U.S. to get both feet in the door.
The Turks of course have been fighting for um teen years over territory, we need the Turks also. I don't know if this would be a chip on the shoulder of the Turks to help and aide the Kurds, I think so.

In so saying, we would be walking on thin ice once again, the rebels still there, military showdowns and patrols, this time the Russians doing the sneaky behind the scenes weapons handouts, like they did in Korea, Viet Nam, etc.

The Turks of course would kick us out of their country but, now we'd have the Kurds as a military base of OP I'm sure.

What a can of worms.

Turks and Iranians may not allow the establishment of an independent Kurdistan in Iraq; so also the Iraqian themselves.
USA need not support any national confederation. It would be a total failure and a calamity for the Kurds
There is an unfelt economic crisis in America. It is obvious
in the down fall of US Dollars . American intervention in Iraq
is a tragedy. America should now support to retrieve an economic independence in it's own country, instead acting
as policemen for other countries.
