I have suddenly become aware today that 50 years ago, we were never really truly aware of the wrongfulness of what is now unacceptable in our society ; racism, racial discrimination, the persecution of homosexuals, sexism, sexual discrimination, sexual implementation, etc.
I mean, 50 years ago, we were bigoted! And it was okay to bigoted! It was expected of you to be bigoted! Now, we frown and are ashamed upon our past behavior because we (or at least most of us) now know that it was wrong.
With that said, I wonder what it is that we are currently doing today, as a civilization that we will frown upon and/or be ashamed of 50 years later? I mean, what is it that you predict that we do today that we will deem to be wrong 50 years from now?

Numerous media studies will come out to prove that obesity is actually genetic and normal (whereas being skinny is abnormal), and that any discrimination against fat people, or even the suggestion that fat people are responsible for their weight will be subject to legal action for discrimination.
We will also go to war with countries outside of the US which (from todays standards but not the futures) eat healthy diets and have less fat people for racistly oppressing fat people, since it is the US's duty to spread freedom and democracy and stop oppression.
Many people will die, but within 50 years, we hopefully will succed in purging the inferior and unnatural populations which eat "healthy" food and are skinny.
It's already started, have you seen how many studies say fat people are not responsible for their weight, it's genetic, and t hat implying otherwise is racist/bigoted?
50 years ago many norms we now held were considered absurd and unthinkable. Can you see it being any different 50 years ahead.

I recognise that my moms and dads set up after they have been each beautiful younger, and theres a identical age change there... I've by no means relatively messed round with any one more youthful than me, however age is an arbitrary variable. And you are really younger your self. I recognise that after I used to be 19, I used to be really immature and green, and she or he's quite often the equal at sixteen. What relatively concerns here's who you each are, and what the risks are... I imply... I consider what could trouble me extra if I have been you is how different men and women could see it in the event that they learned... I imply, I do not consider her peers will pass judgement on her for courting an older man, however you (rightly or wrongly) could also be judged by means of peers or friends for sexing up a sixteen yr ancient. Do her moms and dads recognise you are seeing her? How could they suppose? These should not relatively be elements to keep in mind should you care approximately every different or if its simply nontoxic, innocent amusing, however within the truly global - they're elements. If you ever get the sensation that you are taking competencies, then I'd warning you towards continuing it. But should you suppose like she's vivid and sensible, is aware of what she's doing, that you are now not at danger of absolutely destroying her center, and that you are now not at danger of catching critical **** off men and women for it - why give up?

It would be good if you refer to the country to which you refer when you ask such questions.
Because racial discrimination, persecution of homosexuals, sexism etc. are very much practiced or admired in many countries. Since you have specified homosexuality explicitely I think you refer to the United States of America.
What is right in the US may be wrong in Saudi Arabia. What is right in the Russia may be wrong in the US. And most of things you have listed as examples are today also looked upon differently in different countries. Ladies who show their face (leave alone other parts of the body) in the public are frowned upon in the Saudi Arabia.

Although I do think there's inarguably been some genuine progress in the direction of liberality, I don't think the supposed social progress of our society is as great or inevitable as you seem to take for granted.
I think a lot of it just goes to show that a prosperous society can afford a showier set of pretensions than most, at least so long as its prosperity lasts.
I wouldn't venture to guess what might be considered wrong, distasteful or a hanging offense fifty years from now. I expect it could turn out to be, literally, anything.

on one hand... what was good, before became bad and bad now... most of the ethical and moral behavior today may be no more good in the future... people are getting worse...
on the other hand, there are some advocacies that are established to prevent the worse phenomena, such as racism and discrimination, civil war, slavery, etc.. now we have human rights to prevent these.
The thing is ...worse phenomena is being curbed by having counteractions, and good things (the duty of a child to take care of their parents) would change into worse (mercy kill, it's worst)... nevertheless, there are some people who think that being conventional is not being conventional at all.. and i call those people as liberal (as opposite to conservative).

with the current idiotic trend toward not being able to do or say (or think) anything which may offend anyone, pretty much every action in life will be wrong. Hopefully society will realize many of the things we strive for now are wrong; such as; Thinking that people have a "right" not to be offended, attempting to protect children from life (making them wear padded garments to play in so they won't get hurt), attempting to force your ideas of what is immoral or distasteful on others, the attempt to do away with individualism and nationalism in favor of "group think". All those things, which are so "progressive" and are destroying our society.

Marijuana...hopefully before 50 years we can smoke legally. Why not, cigarettes & alcohol are legal and they are just as bad for you. Maybe even worse.
Discrimination...hopefully in 50 years it be even more wrong. It's still around, people just hide it more.
Sex...hopefully in 50 years we will be even more open about it in every aspect.
Religion...I'm not saying I don't believe in a God...but I also believe in evolution. Hopefully we'll figure this stuff out. i believe religion as it is today is organized control of people.

that we really shouldn't.

i imagine that:
1.SMOKING
2.ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION (Normal drinking)
3.POOR DIET
4. LACK OF EXERCISE
As all are the leading causes of cancer and other associated diseases and are completely preventable behaviours i imagine these will be looked on as irresponsible in 50 years. I wouldn't be surprised if some are made illegal or at the very least taxed heavily.
