Well ...it was the winter of 72 and the girl I was in lust with, left me high and dry. I was a teenager and very upset about it. Passionately upset. Moping around and having my tantrums about the loss of nooky and the rejection la-de-da-de-daaa; the old 'woe is me' syndrome.
My cousins fiance ( Caissey ) sat me down with a beer one night and he told me this story............
" It seems that there was this big old alley cat living in the stockyards up on Keele Street in Toronto. The damn thing was a monster of a cat. Ferrel as could be and it was the cat's meow so to speak. Tough, sleek, had the choice spots in the yard, no other tomcat could match the thing. He had all the best places, the warm spots in winter, the cool places in summer and the run of the yards. The choicest meats from the stocks. King Cat he was.
Now the yards sat beside the railway tracks and even there the cat ruled and as the years went by it came to know every single square foot of the yards. But he was getting old and one day he was crossing the tracks and he came to the fifth set of rails when he spied a train in reverse barrelling down the tracks he was about to cross. Being in a hurry the cat decided that he could get across before the train, but he misjudged his age and was a hair too slow.
The train wheel cut off a 'piece of his tail' and stunned with shock of the quick pain the old tomcat spun around to see how that could have happened and when he did? The next set of wheels cut off the cat's head "! .......
There was a pause, I sat there looking at Caissey waiting ... he took a swig of his beer and said, " The moral of the story my young friend is ...' there's no sense losing your head over a piece of tail ' ".
I got the message loud and clear and was a bit embarrased about my behaviour. I quickly moved on with my teenage life.
And that is my favorite piece of advice darlin. Somehow I don't think it would apply to you; but there you have it. It's always been my favorite.

i admire those that decision interest to how temporary and ever-changing the international is... those that strike a twine in me that on a daily basis is helpful. Time ~ pink Floyd Ticking away the moments that make up a lifeless day You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way Kicking around on a bite of floor on your place city waiting for somebody or some thing to tutor you the way bored with mendacity interior the easy staying living house to observe the rain you're youthful and existence is long and there is time to kill at present and then the at some point you detect ten years have have been given in the back of you no person informed you while to run, you ignored the commencing gun and you run and you run to get closer the sunlight, besides the shown fact that this is sinking And racing around to come returned up in the back of you returned The sunlight is the comparable interior the relative way, yet you're older And shorter of breath and at some point closer to loss of existence each and every 300 and sixty 5 days is getting shorter, under no circumstances seem to discover the time Plans that the two come to naught or 0.5 a web site of scribbled lines putting on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is long gone the music is over, concept i might some thing greater to declare

My favorite would be not a piece of advice, but the whole thing, lol!
Seriously, why is it always "a piece of advice?" Couldn't people be generous enough to stop giving "pieces of advice?"
On the other hand, some people say, "Take my advice..." Thus, in that case, it is the whole thing, I guess; they never say, "Take my piece of advice..."
Isn't our language great?

My best advice for anyone is to always be yourself. That way you do not have pretend to be something else. The only person you have to answer to is yourself and nobody can take that away from you.You then can be your best critic and you alone can rectify your own mistakes.Being just YOU is simply original and unique.

Wow! So many to choose from.
I guess my favorite is "Live Beneath Your Means."
The people who get rich generally adopt this philosophy.

When you come to the fork in the road, take it (when problems arise, go right through them, never sidestep).

treat those the way you would like to be treated.
Unfortunatly we don't always treat people the way we would like to be treated, maybe thinking before speaking would be a good place to start. Something I need to learn.LOL.
