He is only 5 months old? Let him have it. Your son's comfort in his own crib should be more important that whether or not others think he should have a pacifier at night or in the car or for a nap.

It may be the only thing that keeps him asleep.

Count your blessings! If he goes to sleep at all, then just be grateful for that. There's nothing wrong with a baby sleeping with a pacifier. In fact, it's been shown to reduce the risk for SIDS.

rock him to sleep, but let the little one have his pacifier for now, it won't hurt.

Slowly wean him off it....
I would put a little toy in with him to keep his comfort zone !!!

well get him really tired and as soon as he fall asleep take it out of his mouth and it take time to wean them off it

dip it in pickle juice, the taste should make him spit it out and not want it again.
