Who do you think needs to be more tolerant and accepting?

My ex-wife was a pig. I mean pig. If it was her turn to do the dishes or cleaning, she would wait for like a week. No dirty dishes? Just eat out! I am not a neat freak, but I am not that gross. We split for other reasons though so I didn't really get to explore that one a whole lot.

Neither situation is very good, the slob can put up with lots of stuff but the neat person will have a meltdown quickly. there is no tolorating that the neat person can do that will last very long. The slob is the only one that can change so it's better, and they will have to change quickly if they want to live with the neat one

I think they can...I'm not a slob, but I am certainly not the ultra organized neat freak my boyfriend is. He is tolerant of me forgetting to put his stuff back in exactly the right place, and am tolerant of his need to have it in exactly the right place...LOL
They just need to compromise, the neat person needs to deal with a little mess (hey, that's life!) and the slob needs to clean up after themselves a little bit.

I know I couldn't! I'm all for tolerance, but when it comes to living conditions I think it is too much to ask for a neat person to live with the mess and clutter of a slob.

The really neat person should learn to relax a bit, learn to be casual, and make the place their home. The slob should learn to respect the place in which they live, and get organzed. Otherwise, they should be kicked out, and forced to live in a dumpster, where they'll be happy.

the neat person has constant work or has to live like a slob because the slob ain't gonna change! i was never super neat but my husband is a slob! we manage...... :)

Sure could....the neat person would work themselves to death picking up after the slob though.

we've been married for 30 years and i am a major packrat. my husband grew up in a very sterile house and i drive him nuts. i often find him picking up, doing housework, etc. he has been very tolerant and i have come to learn that hes doing that because thats the way he is, not as a personal attack on me, which is how i took it at the beginning. we have both learned to live with the other's vices...but it wasn't easy.

They both should be and its hard believe me i know i'm a slob and my sister is a neat freak ................I think my husband likes things tidy also but LOL hes got me

I couldn't live with a slob.. I would go crazy..
The slob should at least try to change..
