Berkeley has one of the best undergraduate business programs in the country (Haas, Cal's business school). You have to keep your grades up to be admitted into the program because it is extremely competitive. I had several friends at Haas, but I never knew any of them to be pre-med. Actually, I was the only pre-med in my social circle.
At Cal, the business students work themselves into the ground, and the pre-meds work themselves into the ground. I can only imagine trying to do both would be a ticket to an early grave. If you're uber-ambitious, go for it. That's great. Med schools are looking for people with diverse interests, and moreover, they recognize that business sense is a valuable skill when you're a medical professional. But beware that you'd be taking pretty much all the biggest, most competitive lower-div classes in the university (Chem 1A, Math 1A&B, Chem 3A&B, Econ 1A&B, Stats 2, Bio 1A&B, Physics 8A&B etc...) all at once. That's a lot of stress, and it may mean diminished GPA (bad for both Haas and med school!).

Yes, you can do this. Medical schools accept students from a variety of undergraduate majors, but as some of the other posters have stated, you will need to take a recommended sequence of mathematics and science courses (and possibly others) in order to be admissible. Check into the requirements for some of the medical schools you might be interested in applying to. I would also advise that you get involved in undergraduate research opportunities. This will give you great experience, and help you to be a stronger applicant for medical school.

It's perfectly fine to do so, as you already stated that you're going to fulfill the prereqs for med school anyway. But I wonder why you would take business, then go to med school (want to keep your options open???). Either way, I think you would seem to be a lot less competitive in the applicant field by doing so. Others take bio, chem, chem E, in preparation for med school, and honestly I think they would be more prepared than you would be for medical school.

Absolutely. Just make sure you take all your science. Business programs are moronically simple so you can probably get a double degree with little effort.
