Anyone know how to choose a web search listing company?

I am trying to set up a web site and want to get it seen what kind of ads or search listing should I use? there is so many out there and such drastic price differences....

Don't pay anyone for that! Your website will show up on search engines the very next time they do their crawls. It's up to you to have text and meta tags that contain the words people will be using when they use search engines to find what you have.

submit to yahoo and google's search engines (it's free). they will then display your site in their search results based on the respective algorithms they're running.
