First of all, Lions fans are asking for way too much. You guys were only able to win 1 playoff game with Barry Sanders on the roster, and now you're complaining about your team being 4-2? Baby steps. I wouldn't get too crazy, like a bunch of you, and call this a great offense. They have 0 running game. Kitna is NO threat to escape the pocket, and since leaving the running back factory in Denver, Tatum Bell has been a bust. Kevin Jones has not looked decent since his rookie year, and they also don't have a legit TE or FB to help out that run game. The O Line has been horrid (as usual) averaging almost 5 sacks given up per game. On the positive side, drafting a WR in the top 5 for 8 straight years is starting to pan out with a good group of receivers. That D just plain stinks. I feel bad for Ernie Sims and Kenoy Kennedy, as they are the only 2 players that could start for other NFL teams. Busts like Shaun Rogers and Shaun Cody don't help matters. If Kitna stays healthy they have a shot to make the playoffs this year, and you guys in MoTown should be thrilled with that. The Fords need to spend some money and improve the defense and O Line. Draft a running back later on and hope to get one of the many good RBs that will be in this year's draft. Hopefully Millen will judge talent in this draft better than he has in the past. And JT O'Sullivan and Dan Orlovski are NOT the long term answer-that MUST be adressed soon! (Maybe Darek Anderson via trade?) Why does the one guy want more field goals? That means your offense didn't get the job done!

Its tough because they are playing about as well as they can right now. Give them credit. They are winning. But how long can it last? I expect them to start losing some of these close ones. They were extremely lucky to win today. I doubt they make the playoffs.
Defense is loose, allowing 31 points per game and 378 yards. Also, they don't have much of a rushing attack, less than 80 yards per game.
However, they ran well today (147 yards I think), which was nice to see. If they can keep that up, you just might see a change in the Lions that will keep them winning. If they can keep a balanced attack, they will challange the Packers. But it will be a tall task, considering the defense. giving up 422 yards to Tampa Bay was not a good sign.
The Lions defense will prevent them from competing for much longer in the NFC North.

A "stronger",more dominant Defense.
A "long-term" QB. Kitna can only "hold the fort." Lions need a "let's go take this game over" type leader, that everyone can "believe" in.
A better Offensive line.
As for Matt Millen, he was a GREAT player(Super Bowl rings with 3 different teams). An informative "analyst" on TV. As a GM though, he needs to be "re-called", like a defective automobile!!!!!

Schwartz has became the group around, particular, yet there's a shrink to what he can accomplish. he's continuously shown that no longer basically does his group have extensive character and power of will subject concerns (the two off the sphere subject concerns, and somewhat dumb consequences), yet he's outcoached interior the close video games besides. He could get credit for turning the franchise around, yet i think of his value to the corporation has peaked and that they might desire to eliminate him on a similar time as they nevertheless have a gamble of luring in a real head coach (because of the fact any offensive coach might salivate on the prospect to teach with Megatron and Stafford).

Start working on building a better defense. The offense that's in place has MAJOR potential. Give them a top 10 defense and they are SB contenders. I am not a Lions fan per se. I like them and like seeing them do well, just not one of my very favorite teams. Definitely in my top 10 favorites tho. Barry Sanders grew up about 40 minutes from me, so I used to watch their games whenever I could.

as a proud fan of the lions since the beginning i think they need to pick it up on defense work on better coverage. And get the ball to a place where Hanson can work his magic because the boy is a fricken god at the kicker posistion. they should have him kicking 4-5 field goals every game if they can

Defense my friend.
Their offense week in and week out is capable of putting up some great numbers, but that defense (even though played well against the Bucs) is still a bit shaky.
