Therefore xxx = 64 and x = 4. Then the surface area is 4X4 = 16 x 6 = 96

since volume of a cube is s ^3 (s cubed)

s ^3 = 64
s = 4

surface area is area times height

so area = s ^2
and height is s, which is 4

so surface area is also s^3, which is equal to 64 also :)

each side of the cube = 4 .... 4 * 4* 4 = 16 * 4 = 64 cubic inches ...

SA = 6 * area of a side....

SA = 6[ x^2] .... so SA = 6* [ 4^2 ] = 96 sq inches
