I'm having a little trouble following your description. "The translators...were Latin based languages"? Perhaps you are referring to the dispute between advocates of the "Textus Receptus" and those of the Codex Sinaiticus and the Codex Vaticanus, which more closely resemble the Latin Vulgate than the later document does. Serious Bible scholars of today study the texts and manuscripts of the original languages, using the later Latin only for historical comparison. They also use other period documentation to gain insight into customs and idioms of the time. The understand them as well as anyone can. Possibly you heard an apologetic by a KJV-only partisan trying to discredit the other school based on association rather than evidence. Unless I've misunderstood the nature of the program.
