your the only one who answered it?

points grabbers might not agree, but i think you should have to have atleast 5 answers to a question or no best answer is given

I think a lot of you missed my point, although a few did get it, what im trying to say is that, to me anyway, it seems more rewarding to get picked for best answer out of more than a few people, i understand that a lot of people on lower levels want to get there points up to ask and answer more questions each day. im happy to take the points also as im only on level 3 but i would be happier in knowing that mine really was the best answer out of say 20 answers

No, I would only be disappointed if my answers sucked.
I always make sure that I answer the question with a whole lot of detail, therefor, making it a best answer no matter what.
I don't mind the points because it just means that I can answer more peoples questions and help as much as I can.

Yes, because I have a superiority complex, and if I don't get to be superior to anybody, well, that sucks. I am not a point grabber, but at least, if you are the type to always look at the plus side, you can always say, "well, at least I got 10 pts."

An only answer can still be the best answer, and I *think* the asker has the option to choose no "Best Answer" or remove the question. I appreciate your point, but I do like to contribute and get some points. The achievement is better of course, if you beat out several other folks vs. apathy....

Nope. It just means that no one else took the time to answer, or did not see the question or sometimes a question is asked that not too many people want to answer.

I don't think thats the worst thing. It does bother me however when I answer a question and I really think its a good answer and the person who asks the question lets it go to a vote. I think that the person who asks it is the one who knows what the best answer is.

I don't care one way or the other.
But if I'm the only one that took the time, I should get the points as I'm the best answer.

Yes, it also saddens me when I get like 1 or 2 questions to an answer.

yes it does, and also when i get a best answer and i check it and find its a year old and the person who asked the question probably hasnt visited the site in a year and has forgotten all about the question involved

I think if there is at least two people to answer a question that it's OK to have a best answer.
