I'm making my daughter's Snow White costume - I have braided nylon ribbon to attach to the bodice and waist - how do I do that? Sew it on or hot glue? Also fabric netting to go over satin skirt - how to attach?

See link #1 regarding ribbon. Dress bodice currently has no ribbon trim down middle or neckline - will be adding per question. http://store.costumecity.com/snowwhiteadult.html

Link 2 is what finished skirt will look like. Currently yellow satin layer only. http://www.blushfashions.com/index.php?main_page=popup_image&pID=205

Thanks!

For the braided ribbon, I would hand sew them on. You'll get better results and it will stay on better. If you don't want to hand sew, then you can always use fabric glue (don't use hot glue). The fabric glue is called Fabric Tack.

For the netting, pin it to the skirt and secure with a few hand stitches. Then when you attach the skirt to the bodice, it will all be sewn together. If you have the skirt and bodice already sewn together, then put sew binding on top of the netting and then attach to the skirt. You need the binding or else the stitches will just fall through the netting and not hold. I would open the binding and put the netting inside so it is enclosed in it and then sew it on the machine. This will be more secure for attaching.

Hope this helps. Best of luck.

The ribbon will sit much better if you sew it on than glue it, and you can sew the netting on to the skirt at the waist can't you?

nylon print ribbons provide large high quality the 1st bypass contained in the path of the ribbon..... after which degrage extraordinarily after that fabric ribbons.. preliminary high quality now not as sturdy as nylon ribbons, yet final longer with suited consequences (you may bypass countless instances around each and all the ribbon fabric) i've got by no potential heard of Nylon fabric high quality, so won't be able to remark

I would sew it on by hand, you'll have better control than with glue, and glue tends to squeeze out the sides and show too much.
