i am getting a check in the mail from the new jersey district court, i bailed someone out and the case is over

so they are going to send me my money back, the judge's secretary had told me that it would be like a federal income tax check now i wanted to know how long would it take for that check to clear in my bank account?or would it be better if i cashed it with my bank then deposit it into my bank acct??i dont even know if thats even possible anyway but yeah how can i get this check to clear faster?just so i can have the funds available ASAP???thanks!

It will take 7-14 days to go through the system just like any other check. usually they let it show in about three days.
