Well first off we have the sun, moon and stars moving around in a circular pattern; but this isn't enough--it could just mean they just moved around the Earth. However, the other planets--venus, mars, jupiter, etc.--do not. They move forward, then backtrack a bit, then move forward again. This can only be explained if the earth and other planets are going around the sun (since the earth 'catches up' to the other planets orbits). And since the Earth is going around the sun, obviously the earth must be rotating to have night and day.
