Ronald Reagan was a poor fool advised by people with their own secret agendas. Oliver North a common criminal!

Between the CIA NSA and the SIS the US Constitution was (and is being) ignored with impunity and complete contempt for the American people.

As for the news media they also have their own agendas and are in someones pocket.

I say this not as an American but as a UK citizen!! Guard your constitution jealously.

We do not have a Constitution to protect our rights!

Reaganomics and the reactionary trickle down theory means one thing: a giant toilet tinkling down on the working class.
Sean Hannity and Fox noise always praise right wing crooks like Ray-gun and Ollie.
Reagan did has his charm working for him, but the bottom line is that he was an apartheid supporting, Saddam Hussein supporting, contra terrorist supporting, fascist dictator supporting, far right crook.

Ronald Reagan is history so I don't really consider that Reagonomics "trickled down" to me... I am on the fence with Reagan as far as him being a good president. The economy did rebound under his steward and it created a lot of wealth for the American corporations through business tax cuts but the deficits under him were disgraceful...

I think his tough stance with the Soviet Union worked but it was careless and worked as much for the timing of it. Would the Soviet Union have really fallen so fast if it wasn't for Gorbachev's clear head and Poland's communist collapse? I think Lech Walenza has more to do with Europe's collapse of communism than Reagan. Reagan just rode that wave.

But Reagan gave the nation a lot more confidence from previous administrations and he had a brilliant state department.

Reaganomics was a tyrannical lie invented by the theocratic republicans in their efforts to start a return to institutionalized human slavery. Wealth does not "trickle down", it trickles up from the toils of the common worker into the pockets of the capitalists. Capitalism has nothing to do with 'capital' or investment, it is the act of having someone else work to make you rich. This is also the definition of human slavery.

Good American President?????

Ronald Reagan claimed that the Russian language had no word for "freedom." (The word is "svoboda"; it's quite well attested in Russian literature.)

Ronald Reagan said that intercontinental ballistic missiles (not that there are any non-ballistic missiles could be recalled once launched.

Ronald Reagan said that he sought a "Star Wars" defense only in order to share the technology with the tyrants of the U.S.S.R.

Ronald Reagan professed to be annoyed when people called it "Star Wars," even though he had ended his speech on the subject with the lame quip, "May the force be with you."

Ronald Reagan used to alarm his Soviet counterparts by saying that surely they'd both unite against an invasion from Mars.

In the Oval Office, Ronald Reagan told Yitzhak Shamir and Simon Wiesenthal, on two separate occasions, that he himself had assisted personally at the liberation of the Nazi death camps.

Reagan allowed Alexander Haig to greenlight the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, fired him when that went too far and led to mayhem in Beirut, then ran away from Lebanon altogether when the Marine barracks were bombed, and then unbelievably accused Tip O'Neill and the Democrats of "scuttling."

again, good American President??????

Oliver North is a felon - period.

oh, but wait..... I forgot that Reagan is THE guy who stopped the Cold War. LOL.....

trickle down economics = tax cuts to the rich......

These events, though obviously not ideal, should not be the sole criteria for defining an 8 year administration. Unless, of course, that means that slick Willie's 8 yrs can be defined by Monica and Whitewater?

it would be really hard to explain to some one who can only see as far as their noses, but, how many billions of dollars did the U,S spend trying to contain the spread of Communism ?? how many lives were lost?? sure Reagan spent a lot of money to destroy the communist , don't you think it was worth it? probable not the way you are thinking. yes , Reagan was one hell of a man and the best president this country has had in many many years, can you name one other who did even half of what he did for this country ?????
I find people are some what looney, if some one saved the world some how, but in doing so he hurt a few people, some would condemn him the same way they did Christ,?????

Those right winged tactics have been around for 27 years now. Look at your paycheck. Do you really get a tax break? I don't think so.

It was a party I was not invited to, because I could not afford the cost of admission. Ollie and his partner in crime Fawn Hall shredded both the Constitution as well as the rule of law.

I don't think Reagan was aware of Iran/Contra...or anything else at that time. His brain was already in deep distress.

His alzheimers had kicked in about midway thru his 2nd term.
