It seems that the Red Sox will win the ALCS. So what do they do with the already made Indians hats? Burn 'em? What happens to some that are stolen and kept?

They send them to3rd world countries. I have seen one of them feed the kids ads for $1.00 a week or some thing like that. And some kid had a Bills Super Bowl Champ shirt on.

MYyfriend found a SF Giants world champ hat in some store over the summer in GA. Being a Giant fan he got it for me. :)

Some of it is destroyed, some of it is recycled, some is indeed given away.

A few things do pop up in the hands of the front office staff or manufacturers, and it goes from there into the public (read eBay).

I've heard they send hats/shirts, etc. from the losing teams in the football/basketball/baseball, games to developing countries for less fortunate people.

Let me just clarify that statement from eJay. HE is the Giants fan, not me (as I look at the Dodgers pennant and 2008 LAD schedule above my desk in my office at work!).

They give them to underdeveloped countries to clothe the poor. The people have no idea they have discard merchandise and actually think that team won!

If it is like other items like shirts, they usually donate them to poor areas like Haiti. Pretty much nobody in America will ever see them.
