At what angle should the gun be aimed so the target will be hit?

It depends upon the speed of the bullet and some allowance for wind may be required. Intuitively speaking the hunter can aim at the target directly !

Totally depends on the gun. If it's a fast bullet such as a 270, just aim for the spot.
A slower moving bullet, you might have to allow for some "Kentucky Windage"
IE: Aim a hair higher.
