well, even if it's hs, you don't have to get all made up.
just be yourself.
a few changes are good, like the ears pierced, the hair, etc.
but you don't have to wear fake nails, wear tons of makeup.
if you still wanna do that though, please make sure you don't go overboard.
clothing-wise, unless you have uniforms, stick to basically what you are wearing now, only update it a bit.
backpack.
try jansport or maybe a tote bag from any store that's your style.
& remember you have almost a year to do all this, so don't worry about it too much.
once you start actually going to hs, it isn't that much different from jh [at least it wasn't for me...] and it's not scary.
:]

Wear clothing that is in colors that flatter your face, eyes, and hair shade; and styles that flatter your figure. Don't buy things because they are hot - buy them if you like them.
Pierced ears frequently make you look older, IF they are not 'juvenile' [ cartoon or critter ] earrings.
Don't worry about fake nails - the majority of women don't wear them. Do keep nails and toe nails manicured and buffed, if not polished.
Practice with mascara, blush, and lip gloss or color - they make most difference to your face.
Get a great, flattering hairdo. Look up face shapes and styles for each on the net.
Shape your brows - darken if necessary [ go to eyebrowz.com ].
Shoes that are cute and comfy - check out what high school and college girls are wearing at school, and the mall.
Buy or read magazines that show styles you really like - Teen, People Style, Seventeen, etc.

firstly, dont worry. high school isnt scary and within a few days everyone has made lots of friends.

when it comes to make-up, i think that you should start minimal and see what the other girls are doing once you get there. all ou really need is a little bit of pale pink/clear lipgloss and perhaps some mascara. if you are unsure about your skin, try and wear a light foundation with an SPF (sunblock) in it. if you wear too much make-up you run the risk of looking trashy and like you tried too hard. boys wont like this very much.

likewise, you dont want jewellerey to get in the way so perhaps just wear little studs in your ears and one bracelet/necklace which goes with most things. try a silver tiffany-style one.

clothes need to be comfortable, which means no extra-tight pants or short skirts. try wearing oversized t-shirts or slightly baggy dresses above the knee over black leggings for a casual look.

your could also try jeans (skinny ones are cute) with a camisole top and cargidan. the cardigan will aviod you looking too grungy, but you could also wear a hoodie if you want.

'macpac's are always great school bags. they appear quite small and are light to carry, also fitting most of your books without it looking too bulky. they come in an assortment of colours but charcol grey and black are my picks are they will go with everything.

in terms of shoes, trainers are great as they are comfortable and go with most things. i always wear my low-top white chuck taylors (the ones without laces) to school with jeans, trackpants and dresses as they seem to go with everything! you could also try wearing loafers in a neutral beige colour.

also, polo shirts with jeans and little skirts are preppy and also look great with trainers.

these are just a few ideas, but once you start high-school you'll find that you quickly develop your own style.

good luck!

You don't have to do all that stuff for high school! It really isn't that different from middle or elementary school. (well, it depends where you live I guess...) Pick stuff you'd like to use for school, and you'll be fine.
