They almost knocked off the 2 highest payrolls in the majors. Great season for them.

yes, they were pretty impressive, but i expected them to do better in batting and if their pitching staff stayed on track they could have been in the world series...However, I am more impressed with the Rockies...great job of winning for them, very impressive

Yes. Cleveland had a great season. They are a very very very good team. Regarding payrolls - The Tribe is lucky not to have to play in the AL East where the Yankees and $teinbrenner bought their way into the playoffs year after year. Other teams in the AL East had to rely upon the wild card to have a chance to win.

Now that the Red Sox are owned by a group that has pocket$ as deep as $teinbrenners, the Red Sox can compete on a level playing field.

But in my opinion there is too much money in MLB and unfortunately $teinbrenner and the Yankees shoulder much of the blame.

Thats not enough though, they should be held to higher standards considering the position the put themselves in (up 3-1). In NY, they consider it a disappointment if they dont win the series, Im a die hard Cleveland fan & very pissed at the mental mistakes they made in this game 7, the fans should be on them about it & not be soft on them, in NY they would be crucified, theyre professionals, in my mind this is a let down & disappointment & I think if Cleveland wants a sports championship the fans & media have to hold them to a higher standard. How many times in a row can Cleveland sports teams blow it in dramatic fashion...too many already. Im going to die an old die hard Cleveland sports fan, but I really think us winning a championship starts with the fans, we need to stop thinking negative & expecting the worse, ignore the media b.s. about curses & what not, & expect these professional athletes to perform & get on them when they dont & fire that sorry *** Joel Skinner for that call at 3rd. Just a little venting but ill end my rant with this, I read someone elses question on YA today & he said something like this, ill paraphrase...you guys (Cleveland & Boston) are really lucky this time of year to have your teams in it & the guy mentioned that hes a Cardinals fan & how much he enjoyed last years run. So I guess I can definitely say as a fan, I did enjoy & love watching them contend, but I do think those of us that are Cleveland fans need to expect more & stop expecting the worst becaue of our sports teams recent history of blowing it in dramatic ways.

As a heartbroken Tribe fan, I can say I am VERY impressed by what they have achieved this year. They came up short and ran out of gas, yes, but we never expected anything like this. I love those guys, and am VERY proud of them. This is where the lack of experience comes in, and we can hope for a better outcome with one post-season under their belts. My boyfriend, however, was literally throwing empty cans and bottles at the television, and gave me all his Indians shirts, and vowed never EVER to watch another baseball game again. He doesn't 'get' it. But I am very proud of these youngsters and VERY impressed. We in Cleveland know that we will never have the brass ring. We can only enjoy what we do get.

Heck ya I'm impressed!! Totally agree with Random title with a butta fly. I am also a die hard..life time... Cleveland Fan. They played an awesome series. Fire that 3rd base coach who held up Kenny Lofton. That was FUBAR!!!! The momentum took a bad turn on that call. They definitely had the edge going into Boston, shoulda won the first game, but got blown out. Tonight looked promising until bad management screwed it up. Not to mention the ump's bad call. Baseball should go back to being Baseball...not about the money.

Ya really impressed they got this far. They played in a really weak division this year and I am not using that as an excuse because I believe if they were in the AL east or west they could of win either. Hey but don't give up just yet they are only down by 4 runs in the v8.

Yeah I am impressed. They had a great season and gave the Red Sox a run for their money. This is coming from a Red Sox fan too. They just got too tired in the end.

Susan well Dice-K is a starting pitcher and decent starting pitchers get a lot more money compared to Relievers and Closers.

as part of the reservation as bob uecker put it in major league. being a tribe fan all my life i am very impressed with the tribe this year. they are showing shades of the dynasty that won the AL central every year from 95 to 01, they have solid young pitching, good hitters, and a solid core to build around. they just need a veteran pitcher who has been to the post season (schilling or someone like that) that can teach carmona and sabathia to calm down and pitch there game. and some more veterans in the clubhouse to give the young kids some expierence

Very Imprerssed...they tied for most victories in baseball, put together a great pitching staff, had virtual rookies at 2nd and 1st, and beat the highest p[ayroll in baseball and had the second at the brink before faltering...yes kudoes to the Tribe, thier management, the coaching staff and most of all the players

Yes it was a great season for them but not great enough...........They allowed Boston to come back from a 3-1 deficit and that's not great..........Almost only counts in horseshoes and grenades..........Tonight I saw too many bad management decisions on Cleveland's side of the ballpark..........I'm really sorry they weren't able to win 1 more with 3 shots at it..........That's not good..........CAT
