I think it's useless. Waste of taxpayers' money, and I'm kind of offended that I have to hold up a card to show I am an American. It reminds me of concentration camps...remember how the Jews had to wear Stars of Davids? Also...if we can counerfeit money...who's to say we can't duplicate these cards as well?

Yeah, it's a ploy by the gov't to make stupid people feel better. Only a weak little p*ssy would support this idea. Remember when Americans were self sufficient and willing to defend themselves? Now people just run and hide under "mommy's skirt". No one who supports this should call themselves American or ever complain about other people relying on the government.

Don't you already have to hold up a card to prove you are an American? Ever try to get hired somewhere without your state id and a social security card for your I-9s? If the business is legal they have to have legal documentation to work for them, and this is something that's been around for a LONG time.

One fundamental difference about your concentration camp remark is that part of the ID would be to get you back in to the country. There is also no singling out of any particular race, religion, sex, etc.

And f course they will be counterfeited. Everything gets counterfeited if someone wants to have one but can't get one.

Having id's and drivers licenses in the same format and defining the id requirements to obtain isn't such a bad idea. Biometrics is coming like it or not. My last id had retina eye scans and finger prints on it.

As far as counterfeit, it's kind of hard to explain when your fingerprint does not match the one on the card or the one in the master data base.

it is ridiculuous vecause what if someone hacks their system and deletes everything, what if the computers shut down or something.
and also as an imigrant i cant express how slow things are done and replaced, if you loose your green card in the mail or whatnot it takes painfully long to get a new one, or if there is a mistake on the card replacing it is like going through hell. now imagine how many cards, files and etc there will be and how many screwups will occur and people wont be able to work and basically live because of it

Thats the next step before the bio chip implant. The biochip will have ALL your information on it and they will be able to track you and even do mind control with it.You wont be able to buy or sell ,have abank account hold a job or drive etc without it the card and later without the ID chip.It is just Bible prophecy being fullfilled.

People figure out a way to duplicate everything! I agree that it somewhat offends me that I have to prove I am an American. I understand we have to be safe, but I personally feel that this is overstepping the boundries of our government. Just my opinion.

The state I live in has already implemented some of the things in the Real ID act. In fact, if you go down to renew your drivers' license, your name will be checked for outstanding warrants right then and there and the cops will come pick you up, right then and there.

i dont have a problem with it. the government is alwyas looking for ways to piss our money away. all that this does is replace older acts of congress. the only meaningful change that we will see is that our drivers license will be more than just an id for the cop to look at and for the bartender to look at.
