Look up the American Heart Association or The Red Cross in your area. The frequently hold free CPR classes. In A full arrest, "Time Is Muscle."

never met the fella.

( i was taught CPR back in the days before the 911 emergency #. it was murder trying to remember all the local emergency numbers. )

i kept kissing this rubber chick with mouthwash lips and a really unflattering navy blue jogging outfit.

then i was surrounded by others who were commanded to do the same thing by some overseer.....

we did it until they were pleased then all we got was this little card.

i heard the proceedure has changed quite a bit since last time i executed CPR.

i hope it's better because i didn't see the reason for blowing air into the lungs... (where's it going to go?) but i seen much to do with the pumping the chest.. getting the blood pushing around through the body.

there is a new advance way of operating CPR..

first you put you hands on the chest of the patient(in between the 2 nipples) .

second is make sure that don't stop pumping the chest because continuing pumping of the chest will make the blood circular in the body and it also will help flow the flood through the brain...

if these doesnt wont work call 911....its the best way.

I wish I could. But I remember when it was offered to us employees at work a long time ago, I was not allowed to take it because I had a bad back. When I was about to be a grandma, before my granddaughter was born, my daughter requested me to take CPR course on babies. That I learned because I think because of the size of babies, having a bad back would not limit me to perform it if and when it is necessary.

Very sorry to say that I don't but would love to take the course. I don't know if I could though because I have a lung disease and it takes my breath away just unloading the washer and putting it in the dryer. I'm on oxygen 24/7 and that doesn't help me either.
But I was thinking if I could afford one, I'd get one of those portable fibrillaters (sp). I'm pretty sure I could do that. Or at least if someone else was around, they could do it.
I do know how very important it is to know this though.

I used to, I'm sure It would come back to me if put in that situation...I might break a rib, but...it would come back I think( the whole CPR thing, not the rib although that would too)

I do. You can learn anything by watching TV. Actually, I took a babysitting course and that was part of it.
