I think you'll probably find that Ammonium is a freezing agent used on the OUTSIDE of snap freezers. I know that Liquid Nitrogen (Nitrogen being a component of Ammonium) has a very, very low boiling point, so that would make sense.

What wouldn't make sense is the idea that the chips are IN the Ammonium. If this was the case, I would be dead.

Snap freezing is one way of preserving food and avoiding contamination in particular. I imagine with Macca's long distribution chain it would be essential. There is now a mountain of evidence that snap frozen vegetables are just as good for you as fresh veges. They lose less nutrients in the freezing process than most veges do in the fresh food shipping process (which often takes weeks and sometimes months).

So, .... "no" :-)

I don't know if I would believe you. However, I will remember that and maybe will never consider getting fries from McDo.. However, I wish you could give me the details of this piece of info.

yes....and they coat the fries with sugar too....that's why they taste so good.

And it's been a while since I've noticed, but the menu used to say "SHAKES" not "MILKSHAKES" because they didn't use milk to make them.
