I think that morals have changed but behavior has not gotten any better or worse. I mean, 60 years ago many people thought that it was immoral to dance or listen to rock music! Now dance and rock are okay, but people think that miniskirts and tattos are immoral. So next time around, we'll think that tattoos and miniskirts are okay, but something new is immoral. Ideas chage, but the human race isn't getting any more evil.

Each generation hates the things that the younger generation does and calls them immoral, and it's always going to be that way. I think the media is messing up a lot of things in this world-- they demonize certain dog breeds, lie on screen about political things, and make everyone believe that one race or another is evil.

it all depends on which part of the country you are in..... Up NORTH, our morals are STRONGER then they were in the 60's but not necessarily as strict as they are in SOME of the southern states.... a lot of our "BIBLE BELT" states have basically put a CHOKE HOLD on morals and I truly believe they have gotten MUCH stricter over time. Times change----over in parts of EUROPE, anything goes... in the USA, we are still governed in large part by cencorship....heck, we have people telling us what we can WEAR, what we can and cannot SMOKE, what we MUST wear in our CARS, what time adult content CAN and CANNOT be on TV and we are told JUST HOW adult that content can BE.... that doesn't go on in Europe....not to the extent that it does in the USA.... I also feel that if the PARENTS do NOT stop working so much and spending their time AWAY from the family, that causes the moralistic attitudes to dwindle.... parents refuse to discipline their children for things like having sex at 11 YEARS OLD or smoking or whatever because TOO MANY PARENTS just don't CARE.... we splash the stupid things that Britnany SPEARS does daily all over the news but do we tell the kids this is poor behavior? Nope.... but we keep showing it don't we??? She gets her kids taken away and the very next day they film her out partying it up....where were HER mom and dad when SHE was trying to learn how to become an ADULT???? We have DAY CARE workers raising our children... and then we wonder why our kids won't talk to us..... We work 50-80 hours a week... I'm surprised we can even pick out our children in a LINE UP .... and when we ARE home. we are constantly driving all the kids to their 900 different activities, shoving cell phones in their hands (the electronic babysitter)...and MAYBE seeing them for 10 minutes just before bed time IF they bother coming home.... SO, IF morals are slipping in the USA, it's basically because PARENTS are "slipping " in the USA... Is having a VOLVO and a BOAT or skiing in ASPEN more important then our CHILDREN? Unfortunately to a LOT of parents---it is....

oh and one more thing before I crush the soap box I'm standing on..... SOAP OPERAS they are on in the AFTERNOON...... Network TV can't show any sex or NUDITY on tv before 9PM at night but those SOAPS---geeez... lets see how many FORRESTER MEN has Brook been married to and now her little SISTER is doing the FORRESTER GO ROUND? and that is what kids who stay home from school are WATCHING these days---even in the BIBLE BELT......

It depends on your moral system. One could argue that our morals are less puritan in nature, which is a good thing. Restrictive or repressive morals are not inherently better because of their nature.

Everything is based on sex and violence. Media thrives on the negatives.
