i wll be getting a

22 inch samsung monitor for my 360

a dynex hdmi to dvi cable

and isignia speakers

i was wondering is this the way i would set it up

connect the big end of the hdmi to dvi cable to the 360 the smaller end to the monitor. then connect the speakers to the monitor. is that how it will work will i need to connect my speakers to my 360 also or just the monitor and since im getting the extra speakers will the speakers pick up the sound of the hdmi to dvi cable

I believe the X-Box has the HDMI connector and typically the monitor has the DVI.

So, connect the small end of the cable to the 360 and the big end to the monitor.

Connect the speakers to the audio output of the 360.

Also if you want to watch HD movies on this set up make sure the monitor has HDCP support, otherwise you will end up watching standard TV quality movies, or a blank screen.
