What could a future rapture possibly have to do with any political decisions? If one believes in the rapture then they must realize that the world will unfold as it is supposed to and any decisions made now will change nothing........

Many of the theocratic republicans have completely mis-interpreted the 'rapture'. Some thinks it means the end of the human race, some thinks it means the death of all chrtistians. What it really means is the end of christianity the organization which will allow a thousand years of peace to descend on the Earth. Most certainly this misinterpretation has had a visible influence on the fanatical fundamentalist theocratic republicans during the past six years. They all expect to die, soon.

Don't listen to people who have no idea what they're talking about and pretend to be experts.

Those who believe in the Rapture also believe it will happen when it happens and they have no control over it.

Now the answer is yes. But not in any different way than any other religious belief. Politicians who have strong religious convictions will, at the least, partially base their beliefs and decisions on those religious convictions.

I don't recall Bush ever mentioning the rapture like Ahmadinejad has done the return of the 12th imam. He has stated to the U.N. that he prays for the 12th imam's return, which according to Shia literature will require a world wide catastrophe to bring about. Coincidentally, Iran has 3,000 centrifuges humming away, producing fuel for nuclear bombs.

I guess we'll find out if and when there is a rapture. In the meantime, check the polls.

No. It's no different than living life with the knowledge of the certainty of death.

Yes. I believe very strongly that religion is what is dividing liberal and conservative in American society today.

I think this is exactly what is happening now!

Fundamental crazy conservative Christians are as dangerous to me as fundamentalist crazy Muslims!

Although I do think the natural shift of the magnetic pull of the Earth is a more measurable scientific anomaly to worry about!
