He was. They showed from a couple of angles and it was clear he was safe. I don't understand how the ump can miss a play like that when he was inches away. The Tribe just cannot catch a break.

Was he safe..te replay says yes..but the ump and everyone saw it as a bang bang play...the ump make the wrong call but they dont use instant replay...and it was so close, I dont fault the ump...thats baseball...if any of us had to do it, odds are most would have made the same call..Kenny didnt argue it, Wedge didnt argue it, there was no broughaha over it...over the course of a season it equals out..just a shame it came when it did..but the umps do a good job..they make mistakes..but that one was so close that without instant replay on tv no one would ever had know...its Like Holliday sliding in at home in the playoff game for the Wildcard...umps gotta make a call..and I have faith he did the best he could

I realize this is happened a while ago but it just reached me.......Now I have to wonder WHY they didn't let Lofton come home from 3rd and why they pulled Westbrook after he retired 8 straight...........He should have been left in for another inning............Bad, bad management decisions..........Right now Cleveland has the tying run on base..........Pitcher change...........It STILL ain't over............And yes, Lofton was safe............CAT

I am a Sox fan and even I say he was safe...but that is how baseball games go...this whole series there have been a lot of calls that should have gone the other way on both sides...that is the human aspect of baseball and I hope it never changes.

Oh there's no doubt he was safe...his left hand is clearly visible on the bag before the tag was applied.

My case for instant replay!-The camera does'nt lie.He was safe without a doubt. The umps make some crappy calls and the other team pays dearly for it.

no question look at the replay his left hand was in before the tag and if mr. ump would have gotten that right we could be tied right now. GOD IS IN CONTROL THOUGH!!!!!!!!!! I find it hard to worry that the Indians will lose!!!!!!!!!!

Like the old joke, "Son, I know you were safe and you know you were safe, but 40,000 people saw my thumb go up, so you must be out."
