Check your local area for a Masonic lodge. They can give you more info. You might be surprised to find out how many Masons you know. Don't listen to all the anti-mason garbage that is out there. It is a great group.

Very old franternal society that many conspiracy theorists say goes all of the way back to the Knights Templar (look them up). Many of the Founding Fathers were masons. As you might guess they are very secretive. However, look for the symbol. It is a circle with what looks like an upside-down compass (like to draw circles and arcs in math class), and inside the compass is the letter "G." You will see the symbol on rings, bumper stickers and things like that. The good thing is that if you meet one, then you can ask him. They do not actively recruit new members. You have to ask about it in order for one to invite you in much less lell you what they do. Because of this, their membership has been dwindling for awhile now.

Much of what JB1997 says is accurate, although it is not really secretive anymore... individual members vary in how public they are about their membership, particularly in Europe where they were hunted down and killed by the Nazis...
They study morality through symbol, ritual and allegory, and they additionally provide over $2 billion per year in charity in terms of free hospitals, shools, housing, scholarships, etc...
There is an incredible amount of information on them online --- both masonic and anti-mason. All of the anti-mason claims have been shown to be false (most, including all the satanic/luciferian stuff stem from the Taxil Hoax which you can find online) there are sites that offer a "defense" of masonry against the anti-masonic claims, but mostly masonry doesn't worry about anti-masons --- the fraternity existed long before the anti-mason claims, and will be around long after they pass.
what else would you like to know?

Here is a link to a site that describes them. If they were really a secret they would not wear a pin in their lapel that says they are masons.
I used to work with a guy whose father was Japanese. He was a surgeon who travelled to a lot of conferences down south. Since he was not a race people were familiar with he would get a lot of hard stares from strangers. However as soon as a fellow mason recognized his pin he had an instant friend in the area.
