Oh yeah, the Wild have the easiest schedule ever -- tough call to make considering they're in one of the toughest conferences in the league!! The Wild, Vancouver, and Calgary all made the playoffs last year, not to mention that the Avs were the first team in history to tally 93 points and not make the playoffs. Yeah, it's stupid to make Stanley Cup predictions at this point, but you have to give MN sports fans a little break. Has anyone else seen the Vikings play this year? How bout that Gopher football program! And the Twins -- quite a finish on a spectacular season!! Don't even get me started on the Wolves (bball sucks anyway!). The Wild are all we've got!

I don't understand the bashing on the wild in the playoffs. Last year they lost to some team that won an award at the end of the playoffs, OH Yeah it was the Stanley cup champion Ducks. The other appearence in the playoffs, they made it to the Conference finals. For a team that has been around since 2000, they have done a lot of things correct. Are they ready for the stanley cup, who knows, but to say they choke in the playoffs and therefore have no chance is unreasonable. As for if the wild are better than ottawa, I guess we will just have to hope they go to the cup and face each other. Plus, we can wait a couple weeks before finding out where these teams stack up against the rest of the NHL.

nope. you're only looking at the first games of a long season. ottawa has much more mettle from their attempted S/C run last year. they're more of a real deal than the Wild.

that being said, the Wild are a pretty good team, but don't let your fascination w/ them blind you. there are better, more resilient teams in the West.

some teams haven't even played their 10th game. a lot of hockey to be played. Sharks, Wings, Avs look good. and it's only a matter of time before the Ducks come online. And the Avs are still in low gear. once they start clicking, they'll have a better record. it's all about who is peaking come playoff time.

that's why they don't hand out the S/C after the first 10 games. President Trophy does not equal S/C.

I have watched the Wild a couple of times and I must saay, they look pretty good.
I don't think they have the individual talent of Ottawa but then the most talented team does not always win.
I have to say that I would give Ottawa the win only if they have someone on that team that can grab it by the b_lls and make everyone accountable.

Wild fans are hilarious... The team has had the easiest schedule to date and they're already talking Stanley Cup.

The Wild has 6 of their wins against non-playoff teams (Avs, Blues, Oilers, Blackhawks, Bluejackets, Coyotes), a road win against a depleted Anaheim team, and then a OT/SO loss against the pitiful Kings... BIG DEAL!

Until they show they can beat a strong team or go on an extended road trip, I'd hold off on the Western Conference Championship celebration...

Wwild have the easiest schedual ever, so they just appear good. If Sens played Gerber, they'd win for sure, they have a much better team. Also, don't say the sens can't make it to the finals, they already did. I don't think that they would choke though if they made it to the finals twice, it would be way to emarassing.

two quite different styles

its hard to say, wild are better at shutting down the other team, but ottawa is pretty explosive offensively

i dont think there is a clear cut winner, i think you'll just have to watch the head to head

If the Wild were to get to the finals, any and all spectators would have died of boredom along the way, unfortunately leaving these predictions to literally fall on dead ears.

I doubt either team will make the stanley cup predictions.

They will both choke come playoffs. just watch.
