Solid Amber light comes on when I start my gateway computer ?

I can open up the CD drives but there's no signal to the moniter. The keyboard doesn't come on either. I replaced the power supply about a year ago. What could be wrong. It froze up on my while I was checking my e-mail. I couldn't rebot so I just closed it down but holding the power button down. but I wasn't able to rebot

It could be something wrong with the motherboard. also sounds like a power supply issue, but you said you can open your cd drive.

Hi. Try booting into safe mode. If this works, run your malware scanner program(s).
