i bought a new phone in paris, i the samsung shx820. i insert my sim card, the network doesn't work.?

should i take it to cingular so they can fix it for me. or i need another phone. the phone is new and the only network that it shows is the one of T-Mobile.

Forign phones don't work in the USA. They use a different type of network.

Some phones will work in Europe and here. However they must be able to pick up the different frequencies that the networks use here and there. Apparently that one does not
