Depends on how smart you are. I have had students who I wouldn't trust to work on my push bike who wanted to be doctors. One became a fettler (tightens the bolts on railway sleepers) and was fully utilised.
No, you don't have to be in the top .5% of the population. Even the top 10% can cope with and make good surgeons.

Sort of. It definitely does not require a genius to successfully complete college, medical school, and a residency. However, the surgery specialty specifically requires that you also possess highly developed fine motor skills, endurance, and other abilities. These can be enhanced through training, but must already naturally be greater than the average person's.

Of course! You don`t need have super intelligence to become a surgeon. But you do need a wide knowledge of that area to succeed. :)

Off course. You can do anything you put your mind to. And if you are talking about yourself do not put yourself down. If you need extra help get a tutor and/or extra material to back up what you already have/know. And NEVER give up. BUT know what your strengths and weakness are. Good luck!!

being a surgeon is all about dedication . . .
they practice for hours and hours and hours just a single movement of their hands.
if thats what you want all you have to do is work for it.
